There's more to Newquay than just surfing
Why have your summer holiday in Newquay?
Year on year thousands of people come to Newquay, Cornwall for their summer holiday. So what's all the fuss about?
Newquay is the surfing mecca for British surfing and a haven for watersports enthuisasts. Newquay and the Cornish coastline boasts some of the best surfing beaches around. There are a variety of beach breaks for beginngers and point and reef breaks for the more advanced surfer. Most of the beaches are also patrolled by RNLI lifeguards making them a safe place to learn.
If you are looking to learn to surf there is a host of approved BSA (British Surfing Association) surfing schools. Lessons are usually a half day or full day. Your surf board and wet suit will be provided.
If you fancy trying kite surfing then why not head over to Watergate Bay which is situated about 3 miles north of Newquay. Lessons can be arranged through the Extreme Academy.
Keep an eye out over the next few weeks for my individual beach reviews for surfing. You'll find out where the best beachers are, when they are good to surf and suitability for beginners / advanced surfers.
